It's a shame that this is happening as I remember when I first started ebaying, you could post a cd or game for less than £1 but now the minimum cost of any recorded parcel is £3.10. I know we can charge to the buyer but it just means they won't bid as high if the post is too high.
The combination of postage costs, bad buyers and rising eBay and Paypal fees has spoiled what was once a nice and simple way of making some extra cash.
Recently for a heavier item delivery in UK I used Collect+ (http://www.collectplus.co.uk/send) which cost £5.99 for less than 5kg, 3-5 day delivery (I paid an extra £1 for insurance as normal price is £4.99 for 2-5kg, covered up to £50 value). Best of all, print label yourself and attach, drop off at ... local Mr As so I was able to go glitch shopping at the same time. They use local shops, so quite likely somewhere near you to drop off. Fully trackable as well. When I checked they offered the best price, but others may have offers on.

If I had a Next account I would do it!
I think I'll get some cards for Boots if I can, I don't really spend a lot on "me" as I can't afford it but I think a bit of planning ahead for glitches is in order and Boots would be the best option to hang on to them for a good opportunity!;)
A shame that they don't sell gift cards for Mr Ts (unless someone knows different), as you could then buy Argos gift cards from Mr Ts, use in Argos to buy some Mr Ts gift cards ... use those in Mr Ts as part of your shop to buy more Argos ... rinse and repeat ... picking up extra points and increasing your value by 25% on each :j. I am sure that they have thought of that though as no doubt you can't use gift cards to buy gift cards (though apparently in Argos you can, or at least some have), but I can dream.
You would just need one of them where you could then use the gift card to pay off a balance/build up a balance that you could then get refunded/withdraw and kerrching - your very own money making machine .
Of course, if you found the right store with the right offers on, you could cash out through a game, mobile phone or console trade in (e.g. CEX), if the cash price was right. An alternative approach would be to use cash in Mr Ts to buy Argos gift card, Argos gift card to buy XXX gift card for a store that you wanted to buy an item from in the first place - a sort of chain transaction to leverage your initial money.

Evening Luvlies, just catching up - I seem to be doing that a lot lately
. So sorry to hear Itsasecret66 and Lookingforabargain's sad news, thinking of you both.
Still debating whether to get the Argos vouchers, going to have a good look into the thread on here and the darkside, just a bit cautious with the companies going into administration lately.
DD2 starts her new job in a couple of weeks, she decided to use up some leave before she starts there. Spent the morning at Greasbys Auction in Tooting with a couple of friends. DD2 went along to have a look, but one of her friends bid on and won a suitcase. For those who haven't heard of their suitcase auctions, I've put a link to an article from the Telegraph website from a few years back.

It's pot luck as to the quality of the goods inside. DD2 said the BBC were filming there today so they maybe making a programme on it. Her friend hasn't opened her case yet, I'll report back when I find out what she won :rotfl:
Just had a rummage upstairs and sorted out some bits to put on ebay this weekend , thanks to OP for the heads up on the free listing this weekend, will be nice to have some more room for stash once it's sold. DD2 sold quite a bit on ebay before Christmas and used paypal to buy most of her Christmas Prezzies, she's her mother's daughter alright :rotfl:

My condolences to its a secret 66 and lookingforabargain.
DS finally got fully better over the weekend but was so crabby and nasty to everyone on Thursday that I got so peed off with him I told him just to stay in his room on Friday. For once he actually listened and only came out of his room to get meals, thankfully he was feeling a lot better on Friday morning and did appologise to everyone that night after I had a better talk with him at dinner time.
I think the few naps he'd had on Friday did help, every time I checked in on him he was asleep and even went to the extreme of putting the baby monitor on so I knew he wasn't faking!
He's now itching to spend his birthday money and wants a bridge camera. He's seen one he has enough money for because he saved his Xmas money too knowing he may get a better item.
This is the one he wants

Would anyone know if it would be good or not please? I haven't a clue mine is just a wee point and shoot
Hi SD
I have the Nikon camera, easy to use, menu's are easy to navigate, I got it for a Xmas pressie and I'm still getting used to it, the zoom is good, better than the cheaper Fuji one at sainsbugs. Not sure about picture quality as haven't printed any out yet - or even transferred to pc . The one downfall is that it doesn't have a normal viewfinder which I find a pain in sunlight or at night as you can't always see the display.
