Having partaken of their offer in Harvey Nicholls and Gap over Christmas, I can confirm that if it works the same and you have a second card on your account, you can register that separately online and with the Foursquare app (on another phone) and then get the discount twice (as it is per card, not per account).

They had some good deals and cannot complain as first year was free (will cancel after that though as I am not prepared to pay £100 for the privilege ... though I may then get a new account or Mrs Anon can and I will then be the second card holder , assuming the offer is on still in the summer!).

Can you still do these offers on the free cards they offer too?

Silvercar, the traction control is to stop the wheels from spinning, you should not switch it off !

When one wheel starts to spin, the TC kicks in, takes the power from the wheel that's spinning and transfers it to the other wheels that are not spinning hence correcting loss of traction.

CQ, your supposed to keep your foot on the brake, when stopped, then apply hand brake, remove foot from brake, wait for the car to rock back or forward a little, then put in P.

Putting into park before the handbrake is applied fully can lead to costly repairs in the gear box.

Apparently if your wheels start spinning it means the car is trying to hard to grip and turning the traction off gives more chance that the car will move on. :shrugs: I'm female, what do I know other than it works.

    Who taught you this ?

Wonders if this action would work against you in an insurance claim ?
I also had heard about switching it off in an automatic in the snow when stuck. Had a gogle and came up with this...
Most modern cars are fitted with electronic stability control systems which can be very helpful in slippery conditions. These technologies all work in roughly the same way and have two main methods of intervention:

    Reducing throttle
Applying brake force to individual wheels
The quality of these systems do vary, but most can react very quickly and apply more precise corrections than most drivers can manage. Once stability control is activated, all the driver really needs to do is keep the steering pointing in the intended direction of travel and apply the brake when needed.

The only time you may want to think about turning these systems off is when the car is struggling to travel in deep snow, or as a last ditch attempt to pull away in extremely slippery conditions.

My advice would be to leave it on, unless you become stuck, then it may be needed to switch it off, as if the wheels are just spinning, the TCS will not give the power to the wheels.

Thanks very much. Just to be a pain, is it possible to use more than one code? as I got a couple to different email addresses. I was just going to book there and back seperately, but it could cover the whole journey if I can use more than one voucher?

Me and DD2 both got codes from the student offer so had same expiry date and she used them both at the same time in her account fine. :)

Been trying to install my new printer. Have laptop and I phone printing but galaxy tablet is being fussy at the moment. Hopefully will crack it. Printer installed via I print but still refusing to print and telling me I need a samsung printer. I know it should be ok but must be missing something.
