rhosynbach, many congratulations on the birth of your grandson
DH just back from sainsbobs to get a few provisions. DD2 has eaten everything in the fridge while we were away, just about left us enough milk to make a cup of tea! Anyway, he picked up a few bargains while he was out - I train him well. Sainsbobs Cooks Collection Pack of 2 Heavy Gauge Sponge Tins, should be £15, down to £4.50. Very good quality and have a 10 year guarantee. Also picked up the 12 Cup Bun Trays from the same collection, down from £8 to £2.40. I get the feeling he wants me to make him some cakes :rotfl:

wasn't anywhere near as bad as those rollmop things they eat there....vile!
Didn't dare tell the kids that they were eating reindeer sausages when we were in Lapland!!
And what is wrong with rollmops!!!! I worked on the deli in Waitrose when I was about 17, we were asked to try everything on the deli so as we could answer any questions from customers, and I loved the rollmops!!
Quite like venison too, my son's fiancee's father goes hunting in season and we get a few bits of venison off him. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Same here. I remember the constant snow and cold of 63 (January to March:eek:) I remember having a lot of headaches which were partly put down to the cold and constant glare from the snow when walking to and from school. No school runs then so the schools stayed open:D
The winter of 63, my mum and dad married in mid January 1963, they said it was then the coldest day of the century and they had to sweep the snow from the church doors. We have their 50th wedding anniversary celebrations this sunday, wonder if we are going to have to sweep the snow away again.:happylove Nanny to 2 Cherubs :happylove0 -
Evening everyone
Ridiculously lovely amounts of snow by lunchtime - fantastic day here :j
Congratulations Rhosynbach to you and you family - warm welcome to the new addition
Condolences Lookingforabargain - very tough time and not over yet. Hugs for you, and hope things ease in time.
Ok confession time........think I went a little bit crazy with the online boots sale ......and have no idea where to hide all the boxes lol............if I say I am having renditions of the lloyds sale then the oldies will know I what I mean;)
Hi Celebrate - remember it well:D Was when I first "met" you on MSE. Sneaking off from work to visit every Lloyds in your area, plus HGV deliveries of numerous large brown boxes  Absolutely loved your posts and bargain hunting style. Still do

The first Lloyds sale was the best, not even counting the 3 for 1 stuff, they boxed dove sets with slippers for £1, hat box style Kelly Brook big gift sets £1 - was fab.
I have probably my smallest ever Boots order coming, as I could only get online for it and there was very little mens stuff or perfume this year at 75%. A few years ago there used to be great stuff in the online sale.0 -
Well, had a lovely walk to Camberley, managed to get the sum total of one mug in the Boots' sale! Managed to pick up a reduced anti perspirant too though.
Managed to stock up on Advent calendars in Superdrug for 10p each, even dated March 2014!
Came home via T's and the woopsies were already at 50% so picked up a few bits for the freezer.
We have about 4-5 inches of snow so makes it lovely for a walk. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

He's snoring while he's awake. He has got verbal squits. He is generally making me wish I was anywhere else but downstairs. I have come upstairs for a long hot soak
He just does my head in sometimes. He didnt go to work today but both the things he took the day off for ended up getting cancelled so in his mind, he didnt have anything better to doI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards.
