Yes thats what I had heard, but they are so cute.

By the way, how did your dog injure himself.

Unless you have 5 minutes just skip this post

Its a long story to cut it as short as I can

She was charging around when she was about 6 months old suddenly stopped sat down for about 30 seconds got back up and carried on. Didnt think too much of that apart from it looked odd.

Happened again a day or two later and she started chewing at her back foot not breaking the skin but really going for it. Lokked for something stuck in it nothing to see. When it happened a third time took her to the local vets he had a prod could not see anything and xrayed her. Said she had hip dysplasia.
Recommended we go to an out of town vet that does operation rather than giving out tablets.

So we go to this orthopedic vet and he says no its not HD she has it but only slightly she is dislocating her leg and when she sits down it pops it back into place. Seemed to make sense as she always carried on charging around after she had sat down for 30 seconds.

So what he would do is cut her shin bone and move it over slightly to realign the ligament through the v in her knee so it would not slip out.
So after 6 weeks of being crated he checked her out great its worked.
Wrong first time we took her out it happened again and now she also had a limp after it for a few hours.
So more tablets more rest and build her exercise up again.
However many weeks later after we got the go ahead let her off the lead same thing limping.
Back to orthopedic vet he said well it must be a damaged miniscus in her knee will have her in operate and that will sort it.

So another op and away we go building her up again starting at 5 minute walks 3 times a day till we got to 30 minutes 3 times a day .

Still no better exactly the same so went back to our local vet and his answer was I can give you a painkiller and drug her up or just keep her on a lead.
That was the last time we spoke to him.

So changed vets in town but carried on going to orthopedic vet and he said right we need to deepen the groove in her kneecap so ligament cant come out. Yes another op another 6 weeks and still the same outcome could not run wthout limping/putting no weight at all on it afterwards. I was told thats it that is as much as I can do for her it must be arthritus that is causing it. Give her pain relief after a walk/run
During all of this she had been having hydrotherapy also to build her leg back up.

So went to our new local vet and told them where we where at.
Her advice was have a consultation up at Croft vets they are the top ones in the NE for operations.
We might get some answers there.

He was horrified at what she had had done and how much had been spent for no benefit and also her leg had been cut however many times. He did not slag the other vet off just explained why they would have done none of those operations and why.

He said he could sort it out as long as we could stop her running jumping etc for the first 6 weeks (doddle as we had already done that about 5 times ) he would not know which op he would be doing till he got in there but it was one of 2 .

As it was it was the easier one when he got in there sliced down her shin and inserted a titanium wedge into it which pushes the bone out tightening up the ligament.

Worked a treat she is back to the dog she was :T:T:T:T:T apart from now riddled with arthritus in that leg through all the cutting that went on.

Almost forgot she had her left leg done also and that did work on the first operation. Plus whilst it was all going on she did whatever damage to her cruciate from the rubbing so that had to be sorted also.
She is like a machine hard as nails

May well have got things in the wrong order it took 18 months solid from start to finish

Wow that is one long post:o probably missed a glitch writing this

why didnt you go see staff / manager as it was only 6 of any iteam allowed in stores so im sure the manager wuld have helped you out there;)

the store i was at were lovley and just mentiond on way in the only 6 of same iteam allowed to make it fair for all, (they said it was across all store )

cant bleive some -one wuld take the whole shelf of them that nutts unless you buy every one the same gift but i suspect they were to sell on -

ebay is flooded with boots stuff at very high prices and tbh i wuldnt every pay that off ebay for the money they charge rarther go direct

As I said yesterday as an E-Bayer myself I would never but at the Boots Sale to sell on E-Bay. about 4-5 years ago I would have said yes but now I would say there is no money in it. Also since becoming a MSER I would not do it. A lot of the items on there will never sell and they will be stuck with them.
