Thank you for this. I make one of these every week. DH can't eat enough of it but will try cutting down on the sugar. Next week I'll cut it down by a couple of ounces and see what it tastes like and see how far I can go down each week.

I add nuts sometimes, cherries and mixed peel for variety:)

Thank you very much for the offer, that is very kind. I think the dine in deal is only on until tomorrow though, unless anyone knows otherwise. I was hoping to find a nice overpriced chicken and get a bit off the shopping like (sorry can't remember who) someone did the other day. As they said they only paid £13 for all their shopping and that sounded good to me.

I don't think coffee would be so good in this recipe. If you don't like tea you can use fruit tea, diluted squash or even just water, with a teaspoon of black treacle for colour (if you have it/want it) and maybe some grated orange rind if wished. Come to think of it coke would probably work too!
