Sky BB - limits - move?

Hi all
Would appreciate some advice.
We currently have SKY BB (and TV, line rental, talk).
I noticed over the last few days that my BB was slow. Rang sky and they say I have exceeded the 40 Gig limit in the last 7 days and my connection has been "limited".
I don't believe I have (40 gig?!) but anyway.
I want to move providers and have my MAC code, any advice? Any unlimited providers out there? We are quite rural so lmited to usual BB providers.
Thanks

How about no longer being masochistic?
How about remembering your divinity?
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out?
How about not equating death with stopping?

Sounds like you are on the infamous Sky Connect BT product.
Have a look on Samknows to see if there are any LLU operators on your exchange. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Is your wireless connection properly secured (WPA encryption, not WEP)?
If not, someone may be borrowing your bandwidth.
Being 'rural' still gives you the choice of dozens of BT resellers, if no LLU providers are available. But unlimited without LLU is going to be very expensive. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I'm surprised that you pay Sky Line Rental and Talk and are on Sky Connect (40Gb cap)??
Surely if you're paying Sky Line Rental you'd be on Broadband Lite (2Gb cap) which is free, or Sky Broadband Unlimited which is £7.50 when taken with Sky TV (£10 without).
I'd ask Sky exactly what package you're on, or check your package on My Sky.0 -
I have had problems with my cap on sky since I signed up for netflix, but because of where I live The connect version is all I can get so if anyone has a recommendation of a provider as it's all very confusing.

OK, so looking into it you can pay Sky Line rental when taking Sky Broadband Connect, even though you're outside Sky's own network area (SBVN). You learn something new everyday!

So it looks as though you're exceeding your 40Gb cap.
You would need to check http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_search to see what is available to you.
You'll definitely get BT Broadband, they have an unlimited package.0
