UK Online breaks £10 barrier for 0.5Mbps ADSL
( Author: MrSaffron from adsl guide)

UK Online has truly rocked the boat this morning with the announcement that it is dropping the price of its 0.5Mbps ADSL service to £9.99 per month, and its 2Mbps service to £19.99 per month. This pricing only applies on exchanges where UK Online have unbundled the exchange allowing them to use the EasyNet LLU network. Pricing remains at £19.99 and £29.99 respectively if your exchange has not been unbundled by UK Online, reflecting the greater costs of provisioning a service via BT Wholesale.

Many will be surprised to see the £9.99 and £19.99 services are unlimited, which is an indicator of the cost savings possibly if able to use your own network direct from the exchange. The 0.5Mbps and 2Mbps service have a reduced set-up fee of £25 and also include a free USB ADSL modem.

Last week saw UK Online lower the price of its 8Mbps service to £29.99, with a £50 connection free and a free wireless router (free router only until 3rd May 2005).
