Right i have just rung the tax people they say they sent a letter in November to which i never got !!!! But put me through to the compliance peeps and he was lovley he has re instated my claim straight away just had to give name of college

Great news:j I knew it would be a lost compliance letter.
I have my eldest son at collage and am half expecting one of these letters myself, they are checking 500,000 claims apparently :D
  • It could be that these compliance letters are coming through at a snails pace given the good ole Royal Mail have been inundated with having to deal with all the back log of all the Xmas mail!

However,if tax credits sent out your letter on the 7th it could still very well be amongst all that back log! Plus I think they send letters by second class post too!

But Frester made a good point as you could very well receive that letter after the deadline so ring them again just to confirm this.

Believe this or not I am still receiving Xmas cards this week which were posted in November and December!, I got a couple this morning and the postie was laughing his head off!!

Oh, and parcels that were bought on Ebay that were meant to be Xmas pressies!!! :rotfl:
  • He did say that they were checking hundreds told him i could send letter from college confirming but my word was good enough.

So just ring when you get letter and thats all should need to do
