Thank you for the advice. The Dwp told me to send a letter with the Esa50 form which authorised myself as the appointee.

I have just phoned the Dwp and they said that Atos do not send a letter out if no contact can be made by phone... She said the Esa50 form would simply be sent back to the dwp for a final decision...
Can you confirm this is not the case and that you do contact a person via letter if you cannot contact a person via phone?

Mordred12, I’m afraid there might be some confusion. This link explains what the appointee process is. Atos Healthcare would need to be informed by the DWP if a claimant had an appointee authorised.

I can confirm though that if a face to face assessment is needed and there is no telephone conversation with the claimant an appointment can be arranged by post. If you can contact us via the address on our profile with details of your enquiry to DWP we can ask the DWP to look into the advice you have been given.

Question to the Atos PR Rep.

How many "Atos doctors" or "Healthcare professionals" are currently under investigation by the General Medical Council over allegations of improper conduct?
  • Can my solicitor come with me to the assessment?

Thanks for the advice and the confirmation. Sorry to ask another question. How many times roughly would you try phoning a client before sending a letter? And if you did ring would it be shown as a Private number? I only ask this because a private number phoned today. Again thanks for all your replies and help. :)

I have a man who lives near me ask for help as has had three heart attacks a pacemaker fitted and has had extensive brain surgery and a stroke but scored 0 points...Is this possible in your scoring people system.. Because i would not believe it possible..He has said the waiting list for appeals are over 16 months for our area...is this normal?
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

    Hi ATOS

According to one of your HCP, i would be cured from MS in 6 months, that was 2 years ago and i am still awaiting this cure?

I have it here in Black and White.

I am so desperate to be cured, so what is the big secret?

According to the Doctor carrying out my assessment (in August last year) I was told that I would be fit for work within 3 months despite suffering from complex mental health issues which had prevented me from working for more than 4 years prior to the assessment.

The Doctor gave no justification for this prognosis which is a shame because I had worked for more than 20 years (from the age of 13) before becoming ill and often worked 2-3 jobs at the same time.

I would do anything to be able to get back to work and would be extremely grateful if the Atos rep could advise me what I need to do as their Doctor somehow forgot to put that on the form. After all, filling in that box would have prevented the 6 months (and counting) of hell I have so far gone through in appealing this decision and would have had me back to work in time for Christmas instead of my condition actually deteriorating due to the additional stress of this situation.

In case the Atos rep has missed my original question with regards to this matter you can find it at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=58600685&postcount=148 and http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=58804139&postcount=372. I do have other questions awaiting an answer however I would like to think that you are just checking the facts before you respond to them however I can happily provide links to them in case you have somehow lost them.

I would also like to know this.

AND I'm sure others would too.

Atos Rep, I know that you will have to ask those higher up if you can answer this Question.

But It would look better for your company if you did tell us the answer.
By Not telling us it looks like your company has something to hide,
And after all it's the Doctors being investigated and not your Company

I'm sorry to say that its very possible that he can score 0 points and be deemed fit for work.
Its happend to many like him and also people that have only 12 months to live. or less

What you need to do is apple the decision.
Get help from the Local CAB or the local DAIL office.
CAB will be able to put you in contact with dail if there is a local office.

    Good luck.
