I never really understood the point of space saving spare wheels. Surely you'll need space for a full-sized wheel anyway so that you can put the one you had to take off somewhere.0

And the lower weight of the space saver means that the manufacturer can claim the car does 50.1 mpg instead of 49.9 mpg and is therefore better than their rival's functionally identical car that comes with a full size spare.
Has anyone posted that horror story about the couple with the boot 100% full of luggage like something out of the krypton factor. Having to swap space saver for full size = couldn't pack boot, so the passenger had to carry the spare on her lap which then exploded and killed her.0
