    Oh my good lord ISTL.

Are you seriously trying to go down this route!?

Were not talking about £100 outlays and 50 quid profit here. Were talking £78m profits for one company.

No one is saying they shouldn't make a profit, before you choose to go down that avenue. Just that they CAN reduce their prices if they need to.

And they would, they just don't need to, thanks to the government intervention and direct subsidies.

I might start a Graham_Devon investment plan. Designed to track all those risk free companies deemed by Devon to be able to charge as much as they like and increase prices when they like.
  • What's more, it's untrue. One of the largest builders, Persimmon Homes had a profit of 13% average per build. Taylor Wimpey's is 11.4%.

You really need to learn the difference between profit and margin.

Give it up Hamish. Profit margin is self explanatory.

See my sig for a clue as to why..
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

    They can be the same.

They are not in this case.

GD quoted gross operating margin. That's a very long way from net profit.

Get rid of the local authority and housing association requirements and it will become more affordable for decent, hard working middle class thrivers.
As commented on your other thread hamish, the minute lending for housing gets excessive, the BOE are going to slap major limits on lending. The bonus of this will be that it will keep rates lower for much longer.

You still ignore the fact that low wage earners have to live somewhere.

My top tip would be work harde at school instead of smoking behind the bike sheds. Mobility is not the responsibility of the state. We all make our choices in life.
