Husband and wife question

My husband and I have both recently started doing competitions through this forum and are both having fun with it.
I have a question though, which I hope more experienced compers may be able to answer - As we both have the same address and postcode, will this make our entries void if the comp rules state only one entry per household? We have different phone numbers and different email addresses.

Advice very much appreciated, thank you

If the terms and conditions state one entry per household then you will be disqualified if you both enter. If it says one entry per person then you should be ok.

Yes always read the terms and conditions carefully. One per household means just that. You would be pretty disappointed to spend time entering only to get yourselves disqualified

  • Thanks very much for help.
We will have to make sure we check we are not cancelling each other out. That would be a pity.
  • Hiya, and welcome to the board, just thought I would tell you what me and my wife do as it may help

We created an email specifically for entering competitions - have the name and addy in the signature of the email - and I keep my account logged in on here so that if she wants to enter some competitions she can by seeing which ones I have entered ( click the little enter green arrow on the competition listings )

Hi. My husband I both comp. We each have our own laptop, email and phone number etc. We always use our own laptop just in case its one entry per IP address. We have a system where my DH never enters the 1 per household ones, he leaves them to me. We find this works and we both win things. Don't know if this helps or not but good luck. The more you both enter the more likely you are to win.
BIG THANKS TO ALL WHO POST THE COMPETITIONS

Using different laptops still shows up as the same IP address I think Sylvia, it's the address that your provider shows as and you'd both be using the same one. But if he never does 1 per household comps you will be fine.

  • As far as I am aware each laptop does not have its own IP address but each Internet connection does. Eg if you are both connecting to a Virgin wifi at home, they will both have the same IP address.

I am happy to be corrected though!

    No you're correct.
There is software that can mask or fake an IP address but the way the poster has described it would show up as the same IP address.
