Jessops in administration - what about my order?

Hi all, my first posting, so please be gentle!
I ordered a photo calendar from Jessops online earlier this week, and had an email yesterday to say it had been dispatched to my local store and they would text me when I could collect it. Of course, today I heard the news that Jessops have gone into administration.
I don't know much about these things, but I'm assuming this means all trading has ceased, and the shop will not be open? What happens to my order (which I've paid for already)?
I'm not overly upset about the money, it wasn't much, but I would rather like my calendar
Especially seeing as it's already printed!!
Thanks in advance for any advice.

If it's been sent and it's personalised, I can't see why you wouldn't be able to get it. However, administration is a pain in the backside so I may well be wrong. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Apparently Jessops are still trading... according to MSE's News article on the matter.
Might well be worth re-reading MSE's Administration Help article too.0 -
PWC on Sky News earlier reported that for the next 48hrs all stores will be trading as normal....so you should be able to get in and collect without an issue...0

Many thanks everyone - think I'll pop down to the shop tomorrow and see what the deal is then!

Going into administration does not mean the immediate cessation of trading.
Jessops is now being run by the administrators, while they review the company and look for buyers or other options. In the meantime, they will continue to run the business as normal, with the stores open for business (although they will gradually close if a buyer can't be found).
As you've paid for your item then it is best to get to your local store as soon as possible to collect it.0 -
I have been on the phone to Jessops today as I ordered a new camera on Monday. They are currently not trading and nothing is leaving their warehouse. While their phone lines and stores are open, no goods are being traded/handled.
How does this affect me? Well, the camera I ordered wasn't in stock when I ordered it, so who knows if I'll ever get it. I signed up for their 12 months interest free plan, so I don't think I have actually been charged for this yet and I think I am protected.0 -
Hi FolksMany thanks everyone - think I'll pop down to the shop tomorrow and see what the deal is then!
This is my first post too. This week Tuesday 8th Jan I ordered a new camera from Jessops Worcester shop. As the camera was not in stock I was asked for a deposit amounting to £304.50 which I paid for by Visa debit card.
On hearing the news of Jessops receivership I checked my account and no money had been taken at 5:00 pm on the day it had been announced, but was taken out when checking the account today 10th Jan.
On phoning the Jessops Shop I was told that my deposit may not be returnable, ... is this so?
Would I not be allowed to the 14 day canellation period.
I would rather have my deposit back and buy the camera from a company that is operating normally.
Any advice would be welcome please.0 -

VISA chargeback, for goods not received.
For future reference, use a credit card, even if only putting £1. on it as you get full Section 75 protection.
