This doesn't appear very 'Home Phones' related but to answer your question, yes - some channels which are FTA on DTT (Freeview) are encrypted on satellite.I have a freeview dvd box but have recently had sky fitted. Now, on the freeview box, there are sky sports news and sky news and various music channels. But on my sky box, sky sports news isnt free and neither are the selected music channels! its diff free ones on the sky to the freeview!!
Commercial decisions by each channel.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
thats a different offer to what I got offered. Mine is for people who have been on freesat for at least 6 months, and there is no obligation to keep any of the sky packages after the free trial.Wiggly:heartpulsFB0 -
Can anyone who has freeview or an equivalent tell me if they are still able to receive sky news and sky sports news as part of the channel list. Cheers.
Also, i take it freeview is exactly that; free, right? Is it just the cost of a digital box that i would have to shell out for?
Plus, what's the service like? Anyone had any problems?
Thanks again for any help and advice.
sky are planning to take sky sports news/sky news and sky 3 off freeview and introduce a new box which as far as im aware will contain the 3 or so channels they will have taken off freeview with the addition of premiership footie.( paid subs required of course) i believe the plan is awaiting regulators approval, im not happy as i have an integrated freeview tv in bedroom, sony dvd recorder with build in freeview in living room

Not a great site for accuracy unfortunately.
there is another which tells you what comes from each transmitter but can't recall it at the moment. I am sure someone will be along with it presently.
