Hi there
I'm really not sure where to post this so if you know anywhere better, let me know.
I recently bought something from an online shop called Trade6 (trade6.co.uk) based in Bognor Regis. They seemed to have good ratings in Google shopping and being fairly local was nice. I had an email from a guy saying when I would get the product (after I had paid and enquired) but it did not arrive that day. Since I have tried phoning and it is constantly engaged. Also the website appears to be down and I cant even view a cached page. If you search for them, Google still displays links but they don't work.
I just wondered if anyone had heard of them (maybe their website is just down etc) or whether I need to be filing a dispute with paypal?
Cheers

Trades6 on a google search brings up a dodgy Chinese importer:

It would seem to be too much of a coincidence for a UK company to be using the identical name. Out of interest did you buy branded trainers or clothes, and how did you pay?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hiya
It is actually trade6.co.uk which seems to be a UK individual on Whois. I bought a computer monitor using Paypal. When I looked up the address associated with the company, it looked like a block of flats (streetview) - obviously not a shop but could still be a home trader?? If you type in trade6 bognor, you get all the details.
I really hope it is just someone having technical issues or is away!0 -
I managed to get a cached screenshot from IE if that helps.0

Unfortunately, it looks like a scam site to me.
The site was registered on 28/12/12, so that would be an immediate red flag.
Secondly, even though the site is obviously selling things, it has been registered as a non-trading individual to hide the registrants details (so basically the registrant has lied when they registered the site).
With the site being down and the lies that they have told - I would definitely be getting a dispute raised with PayPal.0 -
Thanks - I had a bad feeling it was probably dodgy despite the order confirmation looking fine and getting a reply from the guy initially. I wonder who actually lives at the address they have given - presumably they have just picked any random address in the UK?? Okay fingers crossed with Paypal though I don't hold out much hope there.0

Don't leave it too long to raise a Paypal claim. Don't let the seller (if you DO manage to contact him) string you along else you miss the 45 day claim period.0

Just out of interest what led you to that site originally? For a site to be setup so recent and to be in any rankings would be difficult0

I have managed to get nominet to remove the whois details for you OP, they should appear shortly, might give you an idea of who reg'd the site and where, again this data might be fake but these idiots sometimes think they are smarter than they actually are0

I bought the item from them after checking the prices in Google Shopping and seeing that they had some good reviews just as I would any normal purchase. Obviously now there is no sight of any reviews etc as only some old links still exist.
I have put in a dispute to Paypal. How long should I wait before I escalate to a claim as I can't see them responding now?0 -
