Do Primus Lock Their Routers

Hi all
I'm looking at moving from Primus over to Plusnet now our Primus contract has finished.
However on the Plusnet website it says if you want to use your existing router you got from another broadand provider that it may be locked to their network - meaning you can't use it with another network.
To save me trying to call Primus and being stuck on hold for ages, does anyone know if Primus lock their routers?

AFAIK only Sky firmware lock their routers, I very much doubt if Primus do.
Make and model would help.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

We have the Thomson 585v6.
Although on the Plusnet website the only Thomson routers they know say might work are the 585v7 and v8.
Wonder if it's just worth paying the £5.99 postage for the Plusnet router - although if I can get away without paying it then even better!0 -
You can get the router for free with Plusnet if you move phone/landline over with them you just pay postage, its 18 month contract
I think you're wrong. It says on Plusnet website
Standard broadband - 12 month contract: Pay a £25 broadband activation charge (free if you take a phone package) Choose a free wireless router (P&P £5.99).
It's only Fibre that's 18 months and we don't want that.0 -
Not that I should have to justify myself to anyone but we can't afford to, and don't want to pay the extra for fibre.
Also we have a you view box and do a lot of watching stuff on YouTube etc so would prefer to have unlimited usage. Over the course of a contract for unlimited fibre that works out (including set up costs etc) at £557.63 as opposed to £233.75 for Plusnet.0 -
I would spend the £5.99.
I've installed 2 of the Plusnet routers and they have "just worked" as Plusnet tie your account to the router, so no settings to enter.0
