Advice and comments about a new product name!

Hello!

I wondered if I can get your opinion on something? I'm working on a range of products that are related to holidaying in the UK. Consider these sort of scenarios:

- You're going away with your partner and kids for a week or two summer holiday to somewhere like Cornwall or Southend
- You're going away with a partner for a quiet weekend, or a City break, to somewhere like York
- A day out with friends or family at a theme park, or other attraction in the UK, such as Alton Towers or Legoland
- You hire a cottage or house to stay in, in the UK countryside, such as the New Forest

With this in mind, could you take a few moments to tell me what you think about the following names, and which one would be most appropriate?

1. UK Travel
2. UK Explorer
3. Great British Breaks
4. Stay UK
5. GREAT Britain

If you wouldn't mind just identifying which you believe is the best fit, and any other comments about these names, that would be greatly appreciated!

It's something that I'm working on at home and would love to get some input.

Thanks

Warren

Why not start here: Whois lookup to check which domain names are available. Also put your ideas into Google to see how they are being used at the moment.

You can't use "Great Britain" just by capitalizing it differently.

Some of the names have been used, but because of the product, it doesn't actually matter - it won't infringe on any copyright!

Are you sure? Current owners/users of the names may not have the same viewpoint. This is important to determine from the outset to save the expense/time of changing it all later. You should hop over to the small biz board and ask questions there, you may get answers from people who know more than me.

I like Stay UK because you can encompass a whole lods of different things with that from camping to city breaks, holiday at home or providing advice for people abroad looking to holiday here. Good luck x

You may not need to worry about copyright infringement, but you are most certainly likely to have to be concerned about trade mark infringement if someone else already uses the same or even similar names for the same or similar goods or services, as trade mark infringement covers both identical and similar trade marks. And is doesn't matter whether the trade mark is registered or not, or whether the goods / services are identical or not, as we have such as thing as the law of passing off in the UK.

I like UK Explorer as it sounds as if there are no boundaries...
UK Travel sound dull to me.

I like Great British Breaks, with Stay UK second.
  • I dont mean to be rude but if you havent made up your mind about the name of your business and have to ask on an internet forum then I have grave doubts about your business plan and ability to run it.
