I too had an early dating scan around 8 weeks with DS due to a problem in a prev pregnancy, meaning that they wanted to keep a closer eye on me in subsequent pregnancies. If you explain to your GP they should be able to help.

my neighbour is in exactly the same position as you.
has PO and only has periods every 6 months and has recently found out she is expecting.She went to docs,they sent her to midwife straight away and she said she was about 15 weeks so they sent her for a scan but the scan shows shes only 6-7 weeks.
I wish you and OH all the best,im sure they'll do the same with you as they have done with my neighbour.

I agree, start the folic immediately and the doc should be able to get the pregnancy dated. And I hope they say you're very pregnant, so as you miss the first trimester, which is boring, really hard work and takes forever to end.:D

OK - a professional offering advice here (MW). Book an appointment with your GP (as it seems that this may be quicker than seeing your midwife) - she would only need to send you for a dating scan anyway. Do things this way around, and then you'll know how far on you are, and then by the time the MW booking appointment comes then she will go through all the paperwork etc...seems like your MW may need to up her booking appointments though - I used to offer first appointents 4 per week.

I haven't seen you around the LW board for a while and was wondering how you are, i'm really pleased to see you have such good news.

I read your post after you pm'd me. I have PCOS and in October 2004 had a weird period i was on one day then not then on again then not. I had a cold and was run down. Just started college in the evening and worked 60 hrs a week so always tired.
Went to the doctor and she did some tests and i went home. They rang me to go back to doctors to do a pg test to rule this out. After 11 years of trying for a baby i though here we go again and off i went to pee for the nurse. You could have knocked me down with a feather when she said yes its positive. I was in shock had to get my husband to come to the surgery they wouldn't let me leave till he arrived and we had to go up to hospital for a scan as they thought it could be ectopic. I had an internal scan and was told i was 9 weeks he looked like a little peanut and all was ok.

I had my nipple pierced in September so they were very tender so neverl gave being pregnant another thought lol

I to have severe PCOS and the doctor will send you for an early dating scan.

Congratulations!! Falling pregnant naturally with PCOS is fab!! You must have ovulated at the right time!!!

Sore boobs were the first sign I was pregnant 2nd time round-even before I could get a positive pregnancy test!
Well done on your weight loss too-I wonder if that's what's helped things happen
