Help ive just found out im expecting

Its great news:beer: but not for me he he
Hres my problem. I have polycistic ovaries (PO). I had a scan in Jan to check how bad etc. There badly damaged and was told id never have children the chances are. I already have a DD whos 2.5
I have no cycle to my periods because the PO, I know some ladies who have po dont even have periods but I usually do about every 6 months.
All of this was a shock that myself and hubby have come to terms with really.
Recently ive lost 1.5 stone as my signature. The Dr advised me of what sort of foods to eat to ease me PO and its really helped. Ive not been taking folic acid.
Also my boobs have grown which I just assumed they looked bigger as my tummy looked smaller. Today theyve been really painful and I thought I remember them being like this when I was pregnant. 4 Tests later theres no doubt:T
Trouble is I have no periods (last one was Oct) so I cannot tell how far gone I am. My friends just found out shes pregnant and its 6 weeks before your booking in appointment with the midwife so I could be quite far gone then as I dont know how far I am now. Im going to phone the Drs and explain tommorow. I had a bad time carrying DD bleeding all the time, bells palsey and then a low lying placenta I could go on but wont bore you.
I really would like to know how far I am gone. Theres a baby bond private scan unit near me which im quite happy to pay for. But it can only be done at 10 weeks plus which I dont know I am yet. See my problem:o
Has anyone any advice or has ever been in this situation
2007 is my getting slim year
Total weight loss so far is 16llbs:T
Total to go 15 pounds:eek:
Not no more as im having a baby:D

  • no advice really but im sure in such an exceptional case the dr/hospital would arrange a dating scan for you so they can at least give you a rough guide of how far gone you are. Congrats btw and I hope your pg goes smoother this time x

Aw bless, a little miracle baby:j I'm so happy for you all.

I agree- no need to pay for a scan. Ask your doc to send you up for a dating scan, or if doc is really good (s)he can examine you and give you a rough idea how far along you are then refer you appropriately.

Any gut instinct as to when it might have happened? Obviously it wouldn't have been before JAn as they would have noticed then.

Due to the problems you have had, the Dr should refer you to the early pregnancy unit at your local mat hospital, they will be able to establish heart beat and rough age.

A huge congrats by the way, im 3 days overdue and cant wait

    Congratulations!

No new advice, but keep ringing your GPs surgery for a cancellation appt? Once someone actually sees you in person, they may be more inclined to try and speed up the dating scan etc.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.
  • Your midwife will be able to feel the womb at 12 weeks, as I remember.

as has been said you should be referred to the early pregnancy unit by your GP and they'll probably do a scan or two to give you an idea of the dates - usually a dating scan is done at 12 weeks but if you've no idea where you are they can scan at any time and work it out from there.
