Would you go as far as phone somebody to tell them they need to claim their prize?

Hi, somebody who i'm friends with on Facebook has won an iPad but she only has 72 hours to claim it. I checked on her profile & she hasn't been online since the 17th December so she's unlikely to check her Facebook in time. I've never spoken to her, she's just on my friends list through comping. I searched her name on 192 people finder & found a few possible contact numbers. What would you do? I'd hate to think she missed out & i could have got in touch to tell her but like i said, i don't actually know her. She joined Facebook early december, only used it to like & share comps & hasn't been on since the 17th.

Tough call. You don't want to sound pushy but it would be worth it I think. You've gone to that amount of effort, I think you should call if your sure its her. How ice of you. I hope in that situation someone like you would be there if it was me.

i agree or maybe if its a mobile number you could text and ask her to reply if she gets ur message etc that way you have done what you can !

I just have my doubts because the company did draw 2 previous winners who also wern't very active on Facebook. Also somebody on Facebook pointed out that she isn't actually a 'liker' of the page which is required to enter the competition. So i'm wondering if maybe she doesn't exist & it's a fake profile set up by the company so that they don't actually give a prize away?!

Why would they be drawing the third person though if they didn't want to give it away?

It just seems funny to me that they keep picking winners with very little friends & no activity for about 3 weeks. Apparently they ran another competition a few weeks ago & the winner hasn't been on Facebook since..

It was me posting on FB and here hoping someone knows her so she can claim her prize. It is also now me who is doubting if she exists or not or if she is being used by the company so that yet again they don't have to give out the prize.
To enter the competition you had to like the company for 1 entry and for another entry you had to do a driving theory test on their website then post your results on their wall. She is not a liker of them nor has she posted on their wall so i can't see how she could have entered and won.

If I am honest, no, I don't think that I would go so far as phoning up people who it might be. Her home phone might be in the name of her parents or husband anyway.

I have tweeted to my followers to ask them if anyone knows her and have asked them to retweet. Anyone else on twitter might like to do the same.

I have had friends phone and text me about a prize,but that has been because we have gotten quite close as cyber pals over the years, and they have been really excited for me.

It may be worth a few calls, if its not to much trouble for you, hope shes a real person, xxx

I was the first winner. I'm on fb every day and I have hundreds of friends. The reason I never claimed my prize was that I didn't check their page after it closed, I had no need as T&C's stated entrants had to like them on fb so they had a way to contact them if they won.

They could have messaged or tagged me, my profile is public and I'm never off the pc for long periods of time. They would not explain to me why they didn't, in fact I did not get one response to my pm's either to fb or their website.

Could go on but it has all been said before, on the forum and fb. I just hope Monkey are brought to book for all they are doing. Looks like everyone might be right and they've made up a fake profile during to ensure they didn't have to give away the non-existent iPads as they knew all eyes were on them this time
