The Cabinet Office intervened on behalf of the DVLA, claiming that the domain was hosting a “copycat” website designed to “hoodwink” the public into paying excessive fees for services - such as changing driving licence details – which can be done directly with the DVLA.

The issue was the use of "DVLA" in the domain name. DVLA is covered under copyright and as such they had to transfer the domain name to the cabinet office.

Who, on this, or any similar thread, has SUPPORTED these websites?

No-one.

It has merely been pointed out that these sites operate legally.

Moreover the intervention of the cabinet office has taken ONE site down only.

There's a long way to go yet.
