You forgot to add something - law of the land also gives permission for "attitude formation" on a public forum; i.e towards someone stuck bitterly on a public forum for not reading T&Cs and getting ripped off .
.
As I and others have said - contact your MP. THEY are the ones who have the power to get these websites closed down.
AND
learn to use the internet properly. Learn how google works OR install an ad blocker.
AND
learn to read T&Cs before you purchase goods or services - not after!
Then you won't get tricked/conned/scammed again!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

And what point is there moaning on a public forum about having been ripped off?

So, basically "thinking" of the general public you represent here is - If all day1 users of internet are savvy enough from day1 - then these rip off companies will be out of business. Also, they must know how to install adblock plus on day1, and get adblock plus filter logs applied to eliminate clicks on search results as well.
Excellent ideologies from general public!!.
Re: complaining to MP, I am really sorry to say this: There is something called hansard online, and use your search skills you will come to know!!
Once again, I still think right to remain silent is a good idea.0 -

Contact details for MPs can be found in telephone directories, on websites, you can write to them direct at the House Of Commons.
What has Hansard Online got to do with anything? Hansard is a report of business transacted in Government - not a list of constituents concerns!
Your MP is there to serve all his/her electorate and to raise concerns. So if all those who aren't happy complained to their MPs they would become aware of it and could raise concerns and draft legislation to ban clone websites and/or rewrite the DSRs and FORCE these websites to offer a cooling-off period.T hat in itself would probably be enough to close many of them down as they would lose much of their income. So, basically "thinking" of the general public you represent here is - If all day1 users of internet are savvy enough from day1 - then these rip off companies will be out of business. Who said anything about Day 1 users? You do spout some drivel!
BUT if you don't know what you are doing when you log into websitesthen I reiterate - read T&Cs BEFORE entering into transactions, not after!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

step 1: go to www.parliament.uk
step 2: in the search box on the top right hand corner, key in "copycat"
Step 3: read and interpret result
Step 4: Identify the name of a person.
Step 5 : search whether the name belongs to an MP
So, is still worth complaining to an MP?

No. You're quite right. Just moan to faceless strangers on the internet and insult or disparage all those with whom you disagree.

http://www.parliament.uk/search/results/?q=copycat
First result is about suicide, then about a pub in newcastle under Lyme
Nothing on so called government copycat websites

Step 2: done
Step 3: in the results list returned, the fifth entry is entitled Order Book Part 1 [17 January 2014] and starts:2010 and 31 May 2011. (183118) 31 N Mr David Davis (Haltemprice and Howden): To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment he has made of the prevalence of copycat websites for tax returns ...
Step 4: done... Mr. David Davis.
Step 5: done... yes, it does. He is the Member for Haltemprice and Howden.
To answer your last question: yes, I do believe it is still worth complaining to an MP, and really struggle to understand why you think otherwise.
I can only assume you overlooked that entry in the results list (perhaps you thought that as it was near the top of the list it must be a sponsored ad), and found a later entry from the House of Lords.
I will say that I am not an expert on Hansard, so do not know how to find out what the subsequent answers to those questions might be.
Perhaps you can help with that.0
