Pity the Daily Wail chose to backup their story with this image at the top
which clearly shows that the site is not the official site, the service they provide and the fact that you can submit your tax return for free directly to HMRC.
Pity the "victims" didn't take the time to read that before parting with their money.
Perhaps the Government will soon implement a laziness tax - they'd make a fortune.0 -
Hi don't give up that's what they would like you to do if you paid by credit card get the card company to take this up for you send them all the emails you have and there terms and conditions from the Webb site this happened to me the card company got the refund for me.They may be legal but in there terms and conditions they state you can have a refund if you cancel minus £8 admin charge. As for all the people saying you should have looked at the terms closer we all make mistakes and there Webb site clearly says you can cancel and have a refund.
Good luck.0 -

Where?
From the web site T&Cs for the site Rachel used: (passport-uk.co.uk)- You have the right to cancel your order for the Services within a statutory 7 working day cooling-off period. This period begins when you receive written confirmation of your order from WHO4.
If the provision of the Services commences within the cooling-off period, your right to cancel under this provision shall end. - If you are contracting as a consumer, you may have a statutory right to cancel a Contract at any time within seven working days of making your order under the Distance Selling Regulations. However, due to the nature of the Service which we provide, we will begin to provide the Service to you much before the end of this seven working day period.
- By making your order with us and completing the Application form you are therefore providing your authority to us to begin providing our service straight away which means that you will not have the right to cancel your contract with us once you have made your order.
- You will not be entitled to any refund of the money you have paid to us in accordance with condition unless we have been unable to deliver the Service to you in which case we may refund all or part of the money paid in our absolute discretion.
- This provision does not affect your other statutory rights as a consumer.
- If orders or payments are cancelled for any reason prior to commencement of Services provision you will be refunded any monies paid in relation to those purchases.

So Rachel cancelled straight away so there should be no problem with a refund I hope she has the emails to prove this.0

Service is misrepresented (trading standards), advertisement is misleading (ASA) and most importantly, the owners WHO4 were convicted and fined in the past for similar rip-off incidents.
However, in this forum you will find high self-esteem posters gladly pasting their T&C's again and again.....0 -

In fact, who exactly are you addressing your comments to?0 -

If all the posts in these forums are meant to 'help' someone - who do you think post#514 helps?
That is because post #513 erroneously told Rachel 106 that she could get a refund less an £8 admin fee.
Post #514 pointed out that the poster of post#513 had mistaken the website that Rachel 106 had used.
I hope that makes things clearer. Now read my post again....
Why did I need to do that?0 -

Well, as has been pointed out, the site Rachel used was a different site. With different T&Cs. Gladly doesn't come into it. Just because I pasted the T&Cs doesn't mean I approve! Far from it!
So I was 'helpfully' pointing her to the T&Cs she has (albeit unwittingly) agreed to when she used the site she did. There is no mention of a refund less £8 cancellation fees in the T&Cs of the site she used at all.
I am NOT supporting these 'clone' sites at all.
But if someone realises, from the section of the terms I have copied, that these websites make it very very difficult for people to cancel once they have 'instructed' the site to carry out the work and decided NOT to sign up they will have been helped, won't they?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
