........Nonsense, I found an SP30 added huge additional premiums for years after the offence and cost me much more in increased insurance than the fine. You should have declared it and coughed up the higher premium.The_White_Horse wrote: »rubbish - i got 6 points in two days (same place x2 - the copper was hidden behind a bush with a gun so I didn't see him). when i renewed my insurance (having disclosed the points) my premium went down!
Is either valid? I'd have thought the only way to be sure is doing alternative quotes, one with and one without.
Any other increase/decrease could be caused by the normal movement of rates or anyone of 1001 other factors0 -
I've done comparison quotes with and without since, both identical in every other way. My premium does not raise, the worst one rose by £15. Clearly 3 points4yrs ago does not effect premiums. The insurance company are fibbing.
They've estimated my quote would've risen by £65, a 15% rise had they known of the 3 points from 4yrs ago. Therefore they've took 15% off the payout offered, which is equivalent of £1500. There's a big difference between me owing an alleged (and disputed) £65 increase and them taking back £1500!0 -
complain in writing and if they don't play ball refer to the FOS.
Make sure you have documented the comparison quotes0 -
Did you run the quotes through with your age being one year younger, the car being one year younger and the speeding conviction being one year younger eg 2 years ago?
If you or any other drivers have any other claims or convictions have you shown these but one year younger than they are?0 -
It wasnt 4 years ago when you started the policy though. And as asked previously.
Did you declare them to your previous insurer?
They may look into this.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
