Although it might make things difficult for a few weeks, I think that getting benefit monthly is going to be easier for us as most of our bills have to be paid monthly, at the moment it can be tricky to manage. I do have 2 concerns though:
1) I've heard that for some people there will be 'advance payments' to cover the period between getting last payment under current system and first monthly payment. This will have to be paid back though at so much a month.
2) How will they decide what day of the month you get paid? We have to pay our rent on 7th of the month so if they put us getting paid at the end then we could have problems even if we get the 'advance payments'.
I can understand why they're making payments monthly though. Some people will find it really hard to manage such as those with learning difficulties, also people with alcohol/drug problems.0 -
I will have to make sure i get my cider, scratchcards and fags before benefit day any month or the shop will have ran out by 5 past 9.0
