You will still be able to watch loads of tv channels on your existing sky box.

Here is the full list: http://www.sdsdigital.co.uk/channel-list.html

We're doing a varient, getting Sky+HD, storing old Sky box. Unsubscribing from multi-room and using that box & card as Freesat in the caravan once I get a suitable dish.
And our son uses Sky Go

Just add the 50 'best' ones to your favourites list for easy/quick access.

Why sell the HD box you will still be able to view the BBC, ITV and channel 4 HD channels without a sub.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

No point in keeping the old Sky+ box (it won't operate as a PVR anymore as the recording functionality is now disabled). However, keeping your HD box will still give you the free HD channels available from the BBC, ITV, Ch4 etc.

Selling your HD box won't recoup very much money...

If you want Freeview then yes, you must connect your TV to an external aerial. Freeview is a terrestial service, you can't get it through your old Sky dish and box.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Yes - but you just need to phone Sky to get them to pair up your viewing card - with your old box, if you are going to remove it and sell the HD one.

You still get loads of tv channels without the viewing card - but not your own regional BBC and ITV news (i think).
Cobblers - once you have cancelled your sub Sky will NOT pair the viewing card to a different box - besides which there is absolutely no point in pairing cancelled sub cards to boxes as it achieves nothing whatsoever. The correct regionality of the card on the box can be set usually by a simple power reboot of the box or very occasionally you may need to do a "new install" from the "hidden" installers menu.
