Help please, water bill doubled in new house!

We have just moved (2 adults 2 teen girls) into a smaller modern 2 bedroom house from a slightly larger 2 bed cottage and the water bill which is now metered, is going to be around £51 a month! In the old house (unmetered) I was paying £25 a month! I was pretty angry and have asked them to explain how this is worked out. I…

Back to OPs question, £50 per month is about the point for four people. When you were paying £25 it was for a house with a low rateable value and you were really getting a bargain.
