Cheapest Blackberry contract with BBM (for teen)?
Options
3 does a contract for £13 and including quidco that brings it down to £11.
Orange and O2 have deals for £10.50 - and when you take quidco into account that brings the contracts down to £8.50-ish. Not sure if it includes BBM though?
Sorry, I'm an Android guy. I don't have a clue (or interest) in Blackberry. I would just use Whatsapp or a similar app but I guess all his friends use BBM.
I've already got a contract with O2 and T-mobile, so maybe I could get a cheap 2nd contract?
Also, I hear it's recommended to get a 'capped' contract - he's 15, and although he virtually never calls, as he uses BBM, you can never be sure I guess.
Not sure if any of these cheap contracts can be capped?
I need a phone, not just sim btw.

Thanks. Did a bit of research and it appears that only Tesco and T-mobile do capped contracts and their cheapest ones are £15.0

T-mobile offer 6 months of BBS for £20 on PAYG.0

Better to pay £15 pm capped each month, than £11 and then a potentially unlimited bill one month because he's misused it/lent it/lost it/had it stolen. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

£8 pm on Giffgaff? £5 for a goodybag (unlimited txt OR 60min/300txt) plus £3 for BBM addon.
Can be set to auto renew and auto topup if required so acts just like a capped contract with no chance of bill shock if the phone gets stolen and/or roams.0 -
Get a contract free BB from Ebay or Gumtree (pretty cheap these days) and get a prepaid card (pay for what you use), keeps a track of spendings as well0

Saw some attractive looking deals for Blackberry on VirginMobile whilst looking at Sim only deals, would think it is worth a look. Further discount if you are an existing Virgin subscriber.0

buy the 9320 for about £130/120 , then get an ovo or giff gaff sim no big bills and bbm cost is lowDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Thanks people. I think I'll have to choose either Tesco mobile at £15 or T-mobile at £15.50 + £19.95 upfront as I don't want any nasty surprises.
I guess I could do an auto-top up with Giffgaff at £8 and just buy the handset.
Will look into that.
I chatted with Virgin yesterday and they don't do capped.
I was hoping T-mobile would give me a better deal since I already have one contract with them. Is that likely?
EDIT: so with Giffgaff I could auto-topup every month and then avoid a contract I guess. So when you run out of your £5 allowance, your £3 BIS still works I presume?
As Phones4U and O2 are selling the Curve9320 for £99 at the moment, that is probably the best solution.0 -

Both goodybags last a month so the £3 bbm will always work for that month. If you choose the 60/300 goodybag and use it all inside the month then you just go onto normal PAYG rates until the end of the month.0
