I recently purchased the sim only plan from orange which is £10.50 for the plan which is usually £15.50. However, my first bill has come out and they've seemingly forgot to give me the discount, I have called and what they've said is that they're going to give me £10 off next bill, and £5 off every month after that. however it's all very suspicious, and I won't know until next month's bill.

It's all rather annoying, luckily I had enough in my bank account to cover the amount. It's making me rather paranoid actually, I was told on the phone that my bill will show no discount, but not to worry about it. From the sounds of it they're not quite ontop of things.

So if you get one of these make sure you've got extra in your account to cover their mistakes. Hopefully they will rectify it next month the way they say they will, but it's all very un-organised. has anyone else had the same problem?

  • Do you mean Orange by any chance. If so, the exact same happened to me. I wasn't told this on the phone when I signed up and when I called them to query it, they didn't seem to know what they were talking about.

Also, has your's increased to £11 per month? I signed up the the deal at the end of March after my contract ended and my most recent bill is £11. I know they were raising prices but I didn't receive notice of it. Although, I'm sure I'll get over 50p.

it has been sorted out for me. They did rectify this for me the next month (sorry i should have updated) by taking the extra off my next bill, meaning I only paid around £3 for the month. I've used a little over every month (for voicemails) so it's always come to over £11 anyway, but they've been helpful so far. That initial mistake could have been a big problem for me though, if i'd not have had enough - and as the person on the phone said they're "aware of the problem, and have spoken to several people about the same issue" I thought i'd better spread the word a little.

Yep they seem to have increased my bill to £11, I hadn't been notifed in the slightest about this either, my bill has been £11-£12 monthly anyway because i need to use the voicemails, so i hadn't noticed. thanks, i'll give them a ring and see why that's happened and ask why they hadn't notified me. 50p is not a real issue, still i don't like the idea of them doing that without notice.
