Congratulations Dakota and welcome to baby Noah - love the Noah's ark idea and the fab pics too.
Carlamarie - great costume but your DS looks far too cute to be the hulk lol.
Have bought a pre-cut mdf shape to decorate for DD and SIL who are renewing their vows this year. Would it be cheating to include that in my projects as I didn't cut it out myself? It's really lovely, two birds and a central heart so hope I don't ruin it!It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -

Hi everyone, for those that do knitting or crochet did you teach yourself? How did you go about it and how easy is it? xx
I was shown how as a child but that was over 20 years ago. I looked in some books and magazines but actually the About.com website was the best for step by step instructions.
I know I don't do it strictly right so I stick to simple patterns for the minute until I have the spare time to join a group and they can show me where I'm going wrong. Learning to read the patterns is the hardest part lol0 -

!
he certainly acts the part though :rotfl:
great pics dakota!
i originally learnt to knit when i was small by by nanna, but havent done any for the last 20years.
unforunatley my nanna passed away on christmas day the year before last so i couldnt ask her to re-teach. instead i turned to you tube which has been fab.
theres loads of videos to learn the basics aswell as specific items.
i would expect the same would apply to crochet, ive never tried that one myselfMummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
Sorry to hear about your nanna carlamarie. My grandma taught me how to knit when I was 8yrs old and I did a blanket for a barbie as part of my Brownies badge task. never done anything again though and its a shame we cant ask them now when we really want to learn. I will have a look on youtube etc and see if I can pick it up. I just seen an advert on tv saying one of our local newspapers are giving away knitting mag tomorrow how coincidental is that will have to buy it now xx16 projects in 2016 - 5/16

I would always recommend trying out the difficult bit on cheap fabric. Especially the corners
As for the paper with the magazine - it's the Daily Mail.0
