Thomson wont match their website price

  • For this summer's holiday we found the holiday on the Thomson website. sked in one of our Thomson shops in town to be told they wouldn't discount to match the web price despite the "web prices on the High st" advert. Went to the other branch and said that I would book it there and then if they matched the web price and threw in free insurance with the excess waiver paid - the woman asked the manager and it was authorised. I overheard them discussing whether to do the deal and it turned out they had just heard the daily figures for the region and they weren't doing too well so our £1700 holiday would make them look more respectable!

I have just found next year's holiday on the website but will ask for that to be matched in store and I'll then use some Nectar points to pay it off given the absence of any discount codes. Booking early to get free child place in the summer hols.
  • Hi there,

I sat in thomsons last October arguing with them, for over an hour because they wouldn't price match, the thomson online price I printed off and took down to the store (this included a 50 quid promotional code)., it also happened to be a weekend where there up 160 quid knocked off certain holidays (Our hol happened to be deducted by the 160 quid : - )

Every person that came in, they were spouting "If you see any of our thomson holiday's cheaper anywhere else - we'll beat it" - so I said ," can you beat this?"

To cut a long story short - they wouldn't - so I just sat there arguing the toss (Had nowt better to do - this certain afternoon) - the queue was getting longer, and eventually they did let me have it at the price, minus 2 quid.
