I tried the build it up but i couldnt get it cheaper.
The holiday is 14 nights in Mallorca, Palma Nova at the Santa Lucia hotel at the end of August early September.
If you can find it cheaper by the end of tomorrow I would appreciate it.
Edit: I forgot to add... Flying from East Mids as its convenient (free pick up n' drop off).0 -
Agents who are part of the Global Travel Group tend not to deal with Thomson any longer, there was a major fall out about 18 months ago with the amount of money Thomson was paying agents for selling their holidays. There is no way a Global Travel Group member would be able to do the booking at the price you are looking for as they would be losing a lot of money on it.
In Gemonsters case The Santa Lucia is a Thomson exclusive so fair enough, but normally hotels aren't always exclusive to Thomsons, so often a Thomsons deal could be "packaged up" with different suppliers.
Theres loads of airlines, including just about ALL THE BUDGETS (even ryanair now!) flying to Palma for instance, not just Thomsons.
Therefor Gemonster, why not try getting the hotel only via Thomson website.Get your flights via an alternative source and your own transfer, or just jump in a taxi when you get there. Its only 1/2 an hour.0 -
Its no longer owned buy Thomsons they sold out last year to http://www.acornhoteles.com/hotel-acorn-santa-lucia.htm and I have heard its gone down hill alot since then. You can book direct with the hotel now and BMIBaby have a cheapish flight leaving 4th Sep -18th Sep for £182..My mom always used the Santa Lucia till she first went to the Son Matias which is next door and it knocks spots off the Santa Lucia (IMHO)
If you use the BMIBaby flight then hotel its not much cheaper but you would get 7% back from quidco which is worth £76.44
Hotel with Thomsons is cheapest 4/9 for £1092 then bmibaby flight for £182
brings it too £1197 taxi is £20 each way
This hotel comes up on lates alot so you might want to risk leaving it for a late?
2 cheapest dates I can find (using online code) 28/8 £1320 4/9 £1320
Try the link above and see if its cheaper to book directIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
Complain. Thomson advertise that you get THEIR WEB PRICES ON THE HIGH STREET. On this basis I once got another travel agenst to chuck in free insurance so that they would beat the online THomson offer. The store was only willing to match the web price.0

I asked a Thomsons branch if they would match the price of hotel rooms from the website, so I could claim nectar points, they would not and on top of that said they would charge me a £35.00 admin fee for each room. I booked on the internet through Quidco who promised 7% cashback and I have only had 2% back.Titch0

if its a package its 2% if you book the hotel only its 7% then another 2% or £2 off the flight
2% for beach holidays and flights
5% for cities
3% for cruises
7% for accomodation
£2 for Thomson low cost flightIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
Thomson WILL match their online price!!!
I found a holiday on their website, used a promotional code and printed the proof out, took it into the branch and they matched it, no problem!
You need to take PROOF of the online price.
Hope this helps!0 -
hi saveapenny, paid £2148 for hotel only and they have only paid me £43 something, I have lodged an enquiry but I'm not holding out a lot of hope - they owe me £109Titch0

Either your lucky or I am unlucky. I suspect the latter!
I took a copy of the online price (including discount code), to the branch outside of the city, having phoned them and confirmed they would match the price. When I got there all was fine until the manager had to phone head office, asking questions about the code. I had to be vague about where I got it from. The result was that I was told the code I used was only for the internet and that they wouldnt be able to match it in full.
Having had the price agreed before I went, I was pi**ed off to say the least.
The Nectar voucher I had is now void and I am not sure about Quidco even though I have subscribed.
I have therefore decided to not book this early and will take my chances a month before I want to go.
Thanks to all for your contributions and to Saveapenny, I just hope your still here in a few months time as your services may be appreciated :T .0
