Can I still be fined if I didn't get a parking ticket?

Not true. As earlier poster said, a recent court ruling has set a precedent and the ticket must be attached to the offending vehicle to be valid.
They may well still send you the ticket, in which case, quote the following case:

There will be a case reference online somewhere.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Withabix, I beg to differ as the two cases ARE different, in the stated case there was no attempt to record details or issue a ticket, this was noted in the judgment
"I could see he hadn’t started writing the ticket so I said I would move the car and got in. He said he had to give me a ticket, but I knew I was within my rights so I drove off. A week later I got the fine. He must have written down my registration number as I was driving away" The adjudicators said I was in the right because I hadn’t tried to obstruct the warden or prevent him from doing his job.
In this case it is different, "When I came back to my car I saw a traffic warden writing out a ticket on his hand-held thingy. I rushed across the road (nearly killing myself), jumped into my car and sped away before he could give me the ticket".
The warden HAD commenced writing the ticket and it was only the actions of the driver which prevented it being attached to the vehicle, i.e. he got in the car and drove off, this prevented the warden from doing his job. Should the warden be expected to run after him or stand in his way and obstruct him from leaving until the issue of the ticket ? The two circumstances are different.
I would be interested in the outcome.0 -
sorry for the late reply. if its a council traffic warden, youve gotten away with it. ive drove away from alot of traffic wardens writing me trickets. 1 even proceeded to chase my car! if its a private car park, expect 1 in the post. just for the record, if you do get a council parking ticket, bin it. most councils are too poor/busy to send out reminders. this is the same with speeding tickets too. this has happened to me too (had tickets for parking, i just binned them, and never heard anything)0
