need some help folks please
I'm going stir crazy trying to get my iphone to connect/synce to itunes on my main laptop
I have tried a number of things off various forums (mostly off apple)
none have worked (and far to many to list, beleive me)
anyway I have tried the iphone on a notebook and and another laptop, both appear to show the iphone, more importantly they don't show anything else in itunes ???? (see comment below)***
I have attempted countless times to uninstall itunes and all associated programs following this thread
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
****no matter how many times I have tried to uninstall and reinstall an clean and up to date version of itunes, each time when opened I get all the apps the appear from a previous iphone, more importantly I can not connect or sync to itunes****
having tried countless things I have ran a diagonostic test, this comes back with
no ipod/ipad or iphone found
yet all my apple devices appear to be in order ???
I'm cracking up here, please someone tell me how to delete/uninstall completly itunes
Thanks

Assuming you have successfully uninstalled iTunes from the windows control panel (assuming you are using windows?) you then need to show hidden folders of windows (go to any folder and selects its TOOLS menu, FOLDER OPTIONS and then make sure SHOW HIDDEN FILES... is on and HIDE PROTECTED SYSTEM FILES..... are unticked). Now go into the C: drive and then into Program Files and delete anything called itunes from the apple folder. Also go back into the C: drive and then on the USERS folder and check the faded (now unhidden) folders/files for anything apple and iTunes - These include Local, Roaming, Application, etc faded out folders.
You should also uninstall Bonjour and Quicktime.
Now go to the Registry (RUN coomand >> Regedit) and do a search (FIND) for iTunes. Delete anything that states iTunes.
Restart the computer.
Now install iTunes and then Quicktime.0 -

Have you turned off iCloud backup on iPhone0 -

Thanks I will try this later, and report back
btw, something I found odd, I never had Quicktime installed to delete if from the control panel, on the last new install I made sure Quicktime was installed (still made no difference)
going from the apple link on uninstalling etc, it listed 5 programs in a certain order, which I have followed a number of timesrunaroundpauper wrote: »Have you turned off iCloud backup on iPhone
I'll check although I think I have, as I have tried so many times and so many options, thanks anyway0 -
Thanks after trying above suggestions first, I'll try this

Dave
trying this as we speak, fingers crossed
also not sure if its connected but I have been trying for several night now to sort this out, however the latest thing I have tried is the Diagnostic test,
this always comes back as no ipod/ipad/iphone found
would this be connected to this problem
the same iphone works fine (works with itunes) on 2 different laptops in the household ???0 -

when I run a diagnostic test, it comes back every time NO IPAD/IPOD/IPHONE found :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
yet the same phone is found on 2 other laptops in the household
what the F@@K is causing this0 -
Have you tried the complete uninstall I suggested? Also, have you tried the USB socket?....with another USB socket on your (the same) computer. Sometimes windows/programs mess up usb sockets; so I would try inserting the cable into another usb socket.
Also make sure you have not used up your active devices. It could just be that you have not authorised the device to work with that particular windows computer or even deauthorised it!!

WilliamO,
To be honest I tried dogmaryxx suggestion/post first, as looking at it and the second post confirming it to work, I thought this would do the trick, despite following it thoroughly, I honestly thought it had done a complete uninstall & a fresh clean install, however ????
I’ll answer you post below, (Thanks)
Have you tried the complete uninstall I suggested?
Honestly I have performed a complete uninstall now so many times its untrue, both before your post and since then (still makes no difference)
Also, have you tried the USB socket?....with another USB socket on your (the same) computer. Sometimes windows/programs mess up usb sockets; so I would try inserting the cable into another usb socket.
My laptop (a Dell inspriron 1750) has 3 usb sockets, as I have been trying so many times, yes I have also tried the 3 usb sockets several times each, also my daughter has the same laptop, however itunes and the iphone work fine on that ???
As I have done a new itunes install many, many times, I am 1000% certain that when I have connected the iphone lead the new drivers have been installed (I have seen this a number of times as well)
Also make sure you have not used up your active devices.
Only got 2 other devices registered, as mentioned earlier both of these work fine
It could just be that you have not authorised the device to work with that particular windows computer or even deauthorised it!!
I have used this laptop previously with itunes & my iphone, so it is authorised (although I have just had a replacement iphone delivered)
I have tried a number of suggestions both of this forum (which has been more helpful and easier to follow etc) I have also tried a number of suggestions off apple forum support and google
yet none have resolved my problem :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
