Orange and smashed screen

My Mum has managed to drop her One X and smash the screen which they obviously don't cover under the business phone replacement program. Does anyone know if they'll replace out fix it for a fee of some sort or do i need to go directly to HTC?

you will have to pay to get it repaired
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I realise that, question is will orange do it for me or do i have to go to HTC which the process will take significantly longer with all the sending it, receiving quote and then them doing the repairs.

I'd think Orange will just send it to HTC any way. They have no repair center themselves.
So It would be quicker for you to send to there and cut out the middle man, as it were. . .

Or try a local independent mobile phone or mobile accessories shop or stall. Most offer repair services. I had the screen on my HTC Desire changed while I waited - took about half an hour.

So from what i understand the One X is an absolute pain to repair the screen because it's curved. In addition I'm worried that future problems with it will be blamed on that by Orange of not repaired by an official certified place.

    warranty is void now anyway

  • If you take the phone to an independent phone shop to get the screen done, you will pay less than a proper repair, but will void any further warranty on the handset. If you get the repair done by HTC/EE you most likely retain your warranty as you have gone through the manufacturer. Depends if you want to risk having no warranty should something just break down on the handset further down the line.

What did Orange say when you asked them?
