Primus 8mb Broadband - Any experiences?

In particular I am looking for comparisons with your former service provider and any experience of traffic-shaping, network congestion or downtime suffered.
For the more technically-minded, if you would be willing to provide tracert details to a US server and to a UK server so I could see the routing they take I would be grateful.
The reason for this is that pending satisfactory perusal of their terms and conditions, I am almost certain to take up their line rental and broadband as well as raising my calls package from Saver 2 with Penny Mobile, to Saver 3 with Penny Mobile as it costs only 73p/month more than I am currently paying, and the free daytime calls will mean I save that by not having to pay 18185/1899 anything.
The only thing putting me off is the very long 18 month contract, currently my landline is a 1month contract as is my broadband and my ISP are excellent. It's a huge risk for the sake of a couple of quid a month, but one I'm willing to take for simplification IF the broadband is equivalent of what I have now.
I have spoken to them at length and they have said that they simply resell BT Broadband without all the added crap which is a bonus, but I'd still feel more comfortable about making a decision if I had some feedback which focused on the more technical aspects of the service.

My step daughter has Primus broadband but her exchange can only handle 2Mb so can't comment on how close to 8M you can get. But there are no caps or shaping that I have noticed and it works.0
