Help needed PLEASE....looking for new deal

Hi,

I am a bit of a mobile novice ...so my trendy nieces inform me........I have been on pay as you go for years - as you can tell, my phone is a nokia 3310, and now a bit of a brick!

My average monthly spend is only approx £10, but I am finding that I am now using my phone more....I am currently with Fresh, and have been very happy with them so far....(tried ringing carphone wharehouse yesterday....on phone nearly an hour but got nothing extra than offering in current catelogue apart from discount on accessories - so gave it up as a bad job)

I desperately want a new up to date, smaller phone, preferably with camera.....prefer Samsung or Nokia, but am open to suggestions / advice....

I don't really want an initial big outlay, but am prepared to spend up to approx £18 per month (max) ....

I use the phone mostly during the day, but occasionally at evening, so would prefer anytime tariffs...

So my nieces tell me, my texting is "hilarious"...and I don't think they are complementing me somehow!!!! So although I am getting better, and would like to do more texting....it is not a big part of my life at the moment!

Desperately need help / advice on whether to keep on pay as you go deal and actually buy a phone (which I can't really afford big upfront payment).....or if there are any good monthly deals out there in my price bracket that provides me with a good phone....don't want much do I?

One last thing, I have seen a few of the chats on the deals where you pay out a higher monthly tarif and then redeem that back.....I could do that if it was a good deal...

Thanks to any kind souls who take pity on me (pretty pitiful aren't I!!!!!!), and HELP ME....

Ta, XXXX

How about getting the D500, available on Orange (at OneStopPhoneShop) on 120 Xnet minutes for £25 a month (slightly over your budget) phone is free and you get 3 months half price line rental, you also get some bonus texts and minutes for the first few months:

    http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/ourdeals.php?PROV=OR&OFF=D500&TAR=MY200

you might need to change the tariff as it will default to 200 Xnet

You could get the 6230 and get 9 months half price!

But this is due to be replaced by the 6230i very soon. Hope that helps and gives you something to start off, I have used OSPS in the past and found them very helpful - BUT some other posters have had problems with them, they were recently taken over by CarPhoneWarehouse so maybe that will solve some problems.
2p off is still 2p off!

Don't know if this is any use..but if you're a BT customer have you looked on their website? BT Mobile do some very good deals...I got a Motorola V80(very good camera!) for free, and that gives me 100 cross network free mins p month. The monthly contract (12 month contract..but you can cancel at end of 12 months and the phone is yours!) is £20 pm +call charges..so far I haven't had a bill over £25 quid so I'm happy! :D
They do some great offers starting at around £9.99 a month, check out:

  • Firstly, thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to help me so far......

Secondly, Seaniboy, I own a Virgin Sim card already on a cheap little sendo phone I bought cause it was going cheap and was smaller than said brick (for when I went out), how does the trade in work....presumably, I would get the virgin sim back? & would I have to trade in the Nokia I own, or could I trade the Sendo instead??

I look forward to your reply....

    Ta v much again, Hxxx
