in Credit cards
My husband applied for an MBNA credit card about 18 months ago as there was a 0% offer on and we thought we'd take advantage of it and transfer a debt we had across. Well we paid this off within the 12 months and so didn't accrue any interest.
Just before he was about to finish paying off what we has on the card, for about 3 or 4 months he had offers flying in from MBNA offering him a further 0% period on any further balance transfers. We didn't have any more debt at the time so we left it.
Fast forward 6 months and he never gets sent any offers anymore. Really annoying as we are expecting twins in June and could do with transferring a couple of big purchases across on 0%.
Does anyone else have this card? Why are they sending us offers left right and centre for a period of time and then we have none for months? Is there anything we can do to encourage them to send us offers again e.g. start using the card regularly, etc?
Any advice appreciated!

Part of the problem will be them wanting to exit the market.
But you may also have been flagged as not responding to previous offers so they may be looking to save some of their marketing budget.
Give them a call and see if they have anything.0 -
My offers have also dried up, and I did respond to a few of them.
But I thought I saw on a recent thread that some people were getting offers again?0 -
We did phone them but they said that if there were any offers then they would send them.

Is the card still being used for regular transactions? I have MBNA & Virign cards, and the one used for monthly expenses still gets deals offered, but one that hasnt been used for few months doesnt have them showing at the moment...0

No, we really only used it for that transfer and i think we've only put one or two things on it recently. Do you think we should start using it regularly and then we will get offers again?Mortgage - £105,5000 -
can only help, little bit of usage and paying off and they may come back,, nothing to lose,,0

I have two MBNA backed cards - Amazon (used regularly) and Virgin (not used for over a year) - and have received 0% offers on both every month for the last few months (most recent ones were last week).0
