You don't "open a current account with £100K". You open a current account. Then get money transferred into it, start paying bills from it, transfer money out of it, leave the money sitting in it because it pays interest, etc etc etc.

I have seen savings account applications that asked "how will you found the account" but never seen that question on current account applications. And I have done a few of them in my time

Anyone who ends up with £100K in a single name current account needs to have their head examined and should be "investigated" not just by some Anti-Money-Laundering bod, but by a [yet to be established] Common-Sense-Squad.

The OP said they were going to open two account in the same week, and asked if it would look like fraud.

I just wanted to mention, that it might look unusual if noticed, and that he should answer any questions that might be asked honestly.

I think other posters have mis-understood what I was saying - of course common sense is applied, and it is a rare occurrence for a report to be made to the MLRO.

Furthermore, I thought people might be interested in some behind the scenes information - but I think some want to take an aggressive stance.
