Opening bank account and fraud

Hi!
Next week I'll be opening a new bank account at two different banks, one to change my bank for my current account and the other in order to make use of their coin deposit machines (avoid coinstar 9% charge) I will then have 3 current accounts at 3 diffrent banks.
My questions is if I open 2 bank accounts on the same day or within a week or two will my accounts be closed as it would look like I am a fraudster, even if there is no evidence of such activity?
Thanks

I wouldn't worry, but if you are nervous, leave more time between the applications.
You might not get very far with your application, though, if you tell a bank that you only want the account to get free access to their free coin counting machines.0 -
Don't the coin deposit machines allow you to deposit money into an account with ANY bank? My last experience of using these machines at a HSBC branch was that you had to enter the sort code as well as account number."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I think the Natwest ones only work for Natwest accounts - I have to enter my Natwest card to have the coins credited to my account."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

The HSBC ones used to work like that, then they covered up the slot with a piece of cardboard and asked you to enter your details instead. Whether they'll allow non-HSBC sort codes is unknown though.0 -
If the bank staff noticed that multiple accounts were being opened in a short space of time, they could indeed think it was odd, and if they had suspicions, they may report the matter to their organisations Money Laundering Reporting Officer
The best way to allay those suspicions is to be open with them, and tell them what you've just told us.
But of course, they might not like your reasons, as innovate said!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Come on... Multiple accounts? Money laundering? Reporting? It's just two accounts for Christ's sake.
Nothing to worry about if the credit history is fine. If there are some problems, indeed it's worth waiting a little after the first application.0 -
I opened 3 TSB accounts in the space of a week. I did get asked why I was opening a third when I had only recently opened the first two. I said "Savings", they said "Will you be funding the account with £1000 per month?". "Yes", I said. "Ok, thats fine" they replied. Can't be more honest than that.
I now have 7 current accounts and no one has called me a fraudster yet

How would staff at different banks know that you had also opened an account at another bank? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
simples they check a computerDo you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

Even if they check the credit file, not "the computer", they will see a recent credit search record only. However, I don't think that the staff even check the credit files. What they do is running some credit scoring application. A computer does the job and says Yes or No.simples they check a computer0
