Wondered if anyone had any contact details for a complaint about Sainsburys??
OH bought a loaf of bread on Tuesday evening, I went to use it on Wednesday morning and it had mould growing on the end! The tag on the top said the best before date was 21st April. Tried to take the bread back yesterday and they refused because I didn't have the receipt! (I have found this since - OH is useless at these usually!)
Also, isn't this a breach of Trading Standards or similar?? Just curious! I know it's being a bit OTT over a loaf of bread, it's because of the way they spoke to me in the store, so rude and patronising!

The sale of goods act says you need proof of purchase, to return unfit or faulty goods, that could be a receipt or a cc bill(but they might argue that doesnt itemise your shopping).Shame they are being like this though.Could you try to appeal to Customer services by phone? While youd like to think they would use common sense (perhaps you should ring and speak to the Manager),people do try this stuff on,though not for the price of a loaf I agree.THat should be your point to them.0

I've found the receipt now, and I can see where they're coming from, but all I wanted was another loaf of bread - not even a refund!
Like I said, I know it's a little OTT, just want to get it off my chest by writing a letter to their Head Office and could only find addresses for stores on their website!0 -
Go to thier website, at the bottom there's a "contact us" link0

if you google sainsburys complaints it comes up with a Kelkoo listing with an address, dont know if thats current.0

Hi cazza, i found a phone number for sainsburys its freephone so thought maybe they could help or give you some advice
The customer services number is - 0800 636262
I've had the same problem with dodgy bread from supermarkets and have rung customer services to complain, all they ever asked me for was the details off the tie thingy and i've always had a gift voucher sent to me to get a new loaf plus a bit extra for the hassel...normally £5. This has happened 3 times at T and twice at A.
Still a pain in the bum when ya making the little'uns tea though and they want sarnies but the breads crud.Recently moved to South Wales

I'm lucky I don't have little ones.... but the OH's tantrums when he doesn't get his packed lunch made might come a close second! I've written a letter to the Holborn address in London and CC'd it to the local store manager - just wait and see what happens ow I guess!0

sainsbury customer service is really good OH has complained twice to head office about the local store and received letters back thanking for feedback and I think, 15 pounds in sainsbury vouchers.0

I'm supprised they didn't just give you a new loaf of bread!
I have always found them to be really good when it comes to things like that (One of the resons I choose to shop there).0
