Cheap, but tomato-ey tinned tomatoes!

As the title says...

We have been using T*sco value tinned toms but after needing to seriously the bolognaise tonight realise they are totally tasteless at the moment.

Anyone got tips on good value, but tasty toms?

Have you tried KTC tinned tomatoes? Usually cheaper than Tesco Value at 4 for £1. You'll find them in a different aisle.

Add herbs and spices for more taste....

I buy the value ones and add a teaspoon of tomatoe puree....

Failing that I found the next one up from the value toms, are ok

I use the "East End" or "KTC" brand of tomatoes - often on offer 4 for £1 at Tesco in the ethnic foods section, more tomatoey than Value and cheaper too. If you want more flavour you can also try adding some tomato puree.

Asda had an end full of tinned tomatoes yesterday.

Can't remember which brand but they were 50p a tin which is not bad these days.

Just checked My Supermarket and they are Napolina.

I use passata these days not much difference in price and seems ok x

I use lidl tinned tomatoes or wait till the branded ones are on offer and stock up.

Morrisons are OK as well but I have found the Tesco ones a bit watery and bland as well

I use cirio tomatoes , best ones I've used so far , and get them when on offer , 1.99 for four tins in sainsburys currently. They are really tomatoey

I agree, passata is tastier when buying cheaper tomatoes.
