Change of surname

Yeah unless you're like in some kind of witness protection thing I can't see why you would need to change your kids names & your own first & middle name.
Even my SIL who needed to get away from an ex just changed her surname not her first name or her kids!0 -
"Various people such as doctors will not change the surname unless they have a deedpoll and it is done legally. I tried to do this prior to the deedpoll."
this is just plain wrong a witnessed deedpole with the correct wording can be written by anyone - having a company do it dosnt make it any more legal !
make lots of copies and then have them ALL individually signed by yourselves and your witnesses - then you can just have a day sending them out...rather than one task after another
make a table of everything you can think of you will need to change
put passport at the top - you can then use your passport as id for other people - you will for instance need this to update your driving licence..
add some columns like "email sent" ( scaned copy of deedpoll good enough for lots of people)
letter sent
reply recieved
further action needed
forms printed
etc
leave lots of lines on the bottom - you will think of new things as you go along
buy a lot of stamps - and spend an evening printing of self addressed envelopes to get your deedpolls back
stick your list to the wall and just work through it...
I did most of mine in a day...
have fun
oh....and dont forget to buy everyone t shirts or necklaces with your new names on - wear them for a few weeks whilst people get used to the idea
other people can be surprisingly resistant to learning new names...Fight Back - Be Happy0
