How to make sure I receive all emails?

Hi folks

I have a Yahoo email account and it seems that I am not receiving some of the emails sent by my friends/colleagues etc.

Can you be kind enough to advice what I need to do in order to make sure I receive all emails?

My first steps would be to make sure they've actually got the right address (it's surprising how many people either don't have the right address for a friend, or give out the wrong address/misspell ).

Then to check the spam filter settings, and look for a pattern in the emails that are going missing - are they mainy from hotmail/gmail addresses, are they manly forwarded or CC'd? (those combinations tend to set off spam filters).

best thing to do is set up a hotmail/gmail account and send a few test emails.

If they come back as undelivered, then you can start looking at fixes from there

If I do set up a hot mail or a gmail account, would that make a difference if I send emails to my designated email address if i'm using the same PC?

No, because it's a separate log in if you are using webmail to access the accounts. Or you can set them up in your desktop email client if you prefer.
