My OH has allways booked our holidays and we have have had some great holidays, but never really save much. She`s been looking at one, where we would travel out with Ryanair, but come back with Jet2. One has a limit of 15kg, and the other charge more. I need advice on where to start looking for a `reasonable` priced holiday.

The 15kg airline will possibly let you take more for an extra cost.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

The 15kg airline (Ryanair) also sell 20kg allowances
If you want reasonably priced package style thingys OnTheBeach.co.uk and LowCostHolidays.com will do nicely, however if you want to save even more, the best way is flights on skyscanner.net, use the whole month feature to see if you can change by a day or two and save, then a hotel with RyanairHotels, booking.com or Hotels4U, and transfers with SunTransfers or ResortHoppa.0 -
We went to Cuba with TC (big mistake but that is another story) and actually had loads of clothes etc with only 12kg of luggage (allowance 15kg).What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

If you haven't done this before, you have to compare price against quality.
Mse have written a guide to finding cheap holidays. It's not the hotel star rating that counts but overall reviews. For example, someone I know booked a hotel in this country that claimed to be 4 star, but was more like what I would expect from a one star. He didn't check out the reviews
Ryanair allows you 10kg of hand luggage free0 -
Thanks everyone. for the helpful info. We've been with Ryanair before, and I got stung, because after going through security scanner, I put my toiletry bag in the wrong compartment of my hand luggage, so it wouldn't fit in their gauge. Cost me 40€. If I'd moved it, which they wouldn't let me, it would have fit, but that's another story. We're thinking of Mallorca, so I have a look. Thanks.0

As you've discovered, ryanair 's only cheap if you can limit yourself to a carry-on bag of exactly the right size and weight (we can do a 3-week hol on hand-baggae - we just wear coats and fill our pockets!).
But if you're considering Mallorca, have a look at the post above which is encouraging and refers to some cheap deals
