Problem solving/isolating tests:
Is your router plugged into the master socket? if not, put it there, at least to test.
Restart the router and see what speed you get.
No better? unplug all other phones/faxes/whatever from any sockets in the house. That includes microfilters, and includes the microfilter in your hall (if you have any). Restart router, test again.
All of these tests should ideally be done on a LAN cable, rather than wireless too.
If none of the above helps, THEN contact your ISP. They're likely to run you through this stuff anyway.
And another thing - when you got broadband, what speed were you told to expect?
