I have swapped over to an I phone 3Gs from my blackberry, both use the same sim, same network "Vodafone" but now the network reception has dropped right off and I have to walk out into the garden to get a signal, what's going on any ideas anyone.

Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Sensitivity is the issue - you'd need to check (or get a repairer to) verify the RX stage to see if it is out of spec.0

I'm not greatly surprised.
I have an old Nokia and it will do much better that either my 3GS or old Android phone on the same network in the same place.
I suspect the answer you will find is "it's like that".
One other thing.
The 3Gs will work on the Vodafone 3G network. I wonder if your Blackberry is 2G only. Try turning off 3G (in General > Network > Enable 3G) and see if it then works as well as the Blackberry.0 -

I also have a similar issue with vodafone. I've got a htc wildfire and i have to use 2G as it just won't work at all on 3G. I have no signal, can't recieve texts and can't call anyone. I have rung them so many times and still the issues have not been resolved. I also had another sim put in the phone but with no joy. I know of alot of other people who are having the same problem in my area.0 -
It is most certainly 'not like that'. I have a 3GS that persistently outperformed an HTC. No two phones are alike, to pass they must be between certain tolerances of the RX and TX stages.
Only when out of spec are they reworked, some being better than others.0 -
