O2 deal ended
Options
My O2 simplicity deal just ended and my monthly bill is going up from £5.88 to £10.50. My use is very limited - some phone calls and texts on a Samsung D600 which I've had for years. I have not had to look around at the market for quite a while and wondered if anyone out there has any suggestions for a cheaper tariff than £10.50 or is it possible to talk O2 down to the £5.88? (Have seen the thread on Tesco HTC Wildfire at £7.50. Is this a good deal?)

I think £7.50 (250+5000+500Mb) is a decent deal if you really need a Wildfire (or any other smartphone) that you will have to charge at least every day.
If you don't need it, why pay £7.50 or even £5.88 if you can pay nothing: http://ovivomobile.com/
Also, at some PAYG tariffs calls/texts cost 8p/min and 4p. Is your actual usage big enough to pay £6 p.m. for it?

Thanks grumbler (long time no speak). The ovivo deal seems to need a smartphone to watch adverts. My Samsung D600 can't do that so it seems I can't do ovivo, unless I'm missing something. I've also been reading the MSE thread on Ovivo (I see you had a problem that you got resolved though) and the overriding concern there seems to be that it won't last and that numbers ported in may be lost (I've had mine for more years than I care to remember and would not like the hassle if it were lost)0 -

You are indeed missing something:
Quote:
Ovivo Mobile now supports all mobile devices as long as they are unlocked and can be used with any network’s SIM card.
It used to be only available on smartphones, but that was some time ago.

Thanks Mike but is the deal not that you have to watch adverts in return for the free useage certainly the video suggests that.0 -
No, there is no any deal and no adverts. Just use your sim at least once every 60 days.
A daily email is not a big deal for me and I can't be arsed to find out whether I can opt out of receiving it.0 -

Sorry to keep on but the video on their website says all they ask in return is to show adverts. Is this out of date?
What about the potential loss of number?0 -
