hi santa bought me a nook,no idea where i can receive free books etc or anything else with this new gadget?

Nook is supplied by Barnes and Noble bookstore .
Free ebooks all over the web but you may need to convert to Nook format . Or get a reader that reads multiple formats from the market .

Nook's are fab, they are better spec than Kindles. If you get Calibre software you can convert anything into the right format & side load onto your nook. I've been using it for years with my nook color (like a Kindle fire but was out a year before!!) also as they have a card slot you can get nook 2 android cards to run as an android tablet and as this runs from the card your warranty is fine
Not sure which nook you have but my husband got me one of these for Christmas and I can run Google book store, Kindle & nook all on 1 device!

i have simple touch glow and i love it. i use books on board, fictionwise,harlequin i get epub and use adobe digital. it is a doddle.the above mentioned do free books on promotions at times.:)0

I considered getting a Kindle but was put off by being tied to Amazon. Do the other models like Nook give you access to an English or foreign language dictionary (for anyone reading foreign literature)?0
