Reducing my Tariff Advice Please

Options
I have been on my Three network for 18 months of a 24month contract. I called to reduce my tariff and they will only reduce it to a few pounds less than what I'm paying. I pay £35/month with no extras and the best I can get is still above £30/month.

The cust service agent said they will not reduce any more than mentioned above and it will cost a £10 fee and he said the terms and conditions say I cannot change the tariff in my contract and that they used to allow tariff changes with no limitations and now there are as mentioned above. When I take out contracts the shop advisors say I can change the tariff after a minimum period.

The Three website only shows me 2 pages of their T&Cs. MSE says I can change my tariff down to £10 in the second half of my contract but the company won't let me. What do I do, how do I handle this?

This is correct. Your minimum period is 24 months for this contract.

    MSE is wrong.
Several times I tried to draw MSE's attention to this incorrect and misleading information, but they keep ignoring me. May be they won't ignore you if you try.

Why should they lower your plan? You got a handset based on the tariff you chose in the first place. Should you have started on the tariff you are now looking to move to I would imagine you would have had to put up a large sum of money to secure the same handset.

Networks make money on your under-use and overspend... Reducing your tariff heavily eats into this. The best advice I can give is to accept the tariff change they have offered.

In future choose the tariff and monthly charge that is right for you and front the cost of the handset you want upfront or switch to an alternative handset for free.

PAYG is the best way to keep your monthly charge to a minimum. Pay monthly deals end up costing more in the long run.
